A subsidiary of the Allied Spacecraft Corporation, Firefly Ship Works, Ltd opened its factory doors in the later half of the 25th century on Hera. Ship models that came out of that plant included the Shellback, the Junebug, the Dragonfly, and, of course the Firefly. The Shellback is a class of long haul cargo ships that is designed for skyplex docking rather than atmosphere landing and take-offs. The Firefly, a well designed ship that, if well maintained, will run well past their 40-year life. The Junebug is a slightly larger transport ship than its predecessor, the Firefly. The Junebug design solved a problem with the pulse drives in the Firefly class ships where the stabilizer core would frequently give out. The Dragonfly, a recent addition to the Firefly Ship Works catalog, is a much smaller utility ship, at about half the size of the of the Firefly and a third of the size of a Shellback. The Dragonfly sports a much sleeker profile and performs the best out of company's stock fleet when in atmosphere. |
